What a CCTV Drain Survey Involves
One of our engineers arrives, lifts the nearest accessible manhole, and feeds a camera head through the pipe. The footage is recorded in real time on a locator unit above ground so we can pinpoint exactly where a fault sits, not just that one exists somewhere.
What we're looking for:
- Cracked or collapsed pipe sections
- Root intrusion from trees or shrubs
- Displaced or misaligned joints
- Silt and grease build-up that's narrowing the bore
- Bellied or back-graded pipe that holds water
- Evidence of rat activity or ingress points
At the end of the inspection you get the footage on disc or via transfer, plus a written report noting pipe condition, fault type, location, and a recommended next step. That report holds up with insurers, conveyancers and local authorities.
